The Rock River along Rotary Waterfront Park shines as never before with the advent of “Winter Nights, River Lights” decorations co-sponsored by the Jefferson Live Music Foundation and Jefferson Rotary Club.
The entire park is decorated with twinkle lights an some special hand painted decorations, making it a “Winter Wonderland”.
The lights were turned on Saturday (Dec 3) evening after the Jefferson community’s Holiday Parade of Lights, and already, several families were taking advantage of the opportunity to walk among the lighted trees and look out at the reflections on the water.
“The Jefferson Live Music Foundation and the Jefferson Rotary teamed up to get the project going and put the first lights in Rotary Park,” Joann Miller said.
First, supporters had to solicit community support, which they did through a community campaign seeking donations of $100 each. Numerous businesses, organizations and community members came through to provide these sponsorship’s, ensuring that the coordinators could purchase lights and then keep them lighted throughout the holiday season.
