Major Fund Raisers

To support our many service projects, the Jefferson Rotary Club members stage several fundraisers annually.

The Brat & Burger Dinner/Raffle, started in 1992, is our major fundraising effort to support our scholarships and local community service projects undertaken by the Club each year.

The second major fundraiser the Club has hosted for the past few years, is a wine and beer tasting event in conjunction with Valentine’s Day.  The funds for this event are earmarked for the remaining payments on the band shell and the building housing the concession stand and bathrooms at Rotary Waterfront Park.  Fundraising for these facilities began several years before the facilities were built in 2012.  Other fun events that were held in the past to support that effort included Chutes for the Shell (a parachute jump) and a Cow-Chip Challenge held during the fair.

For the past three years (starting in 2014) the Club has held fundraisers for End Polio Now (a major initiative of Rotary International) during one or two Concerts in the Park.  The proceeds from a portion that night’s beer revenue, tips, a 50/50 raffle, and selling of End Polio Now pins and stickers is all donated to End Polio Now.

The Family Fun Float is held each summer to promote a healthy family event on the Rock River. The route is about five miles starting in Johnson Creek and ends at Rotary Park in Jefferson.

While not major events, the Club members raise funds in a variety of other ways. Members contribute labor at local events such as the Spring and Fall Car Shows, the Jefferson County Fair, and Concerts in the Park.  Earnings from these events go into the Club coffers to support our community services.

To support the Rotary International Foundation, a collection basket is passed at every meeting and most members toss in a buck.  Many members also contribute to the Foundation personally through a voluntary contribution.
